A MANUAL GUIDE ON GARDENING AND FAITH (FOOD ALWAYS IN THE HOME) GARDEN TECHNIQUES

This book has been prepared primarily to serve the extension agents, students, researchers & scholars, developmental workers and Agri[1]personnel of NGOs dedicatedly working for the upliftment of the socio[1]economic development of the farming community. Therefore the application of this innovative technology particularly FAITH Gardening concept and technology will be great help in disseminating technical know- how in field condition. This manual is a guide for growing various garden vegetables. It will also teach you how to produce fresh vegetables round the year, thus food always in the home.

An attempt has been made in this book to compile major issues of history of gardening and techniques, status of vegetables research and production, organic fruit production, organic farming and water use efficiency, rock water and terrace garden, roof garden design and how to develop FAITH Garden in field condition for extension personnel who is working directly in dealing with the farmers. In order that this book might not cover too wide in subject matter however, much of the more important information on such topics has been discussed. Attention has been centered principally upon those extension personnel particularly dealing more directly with farming community.

The information presented in this book represents knowledge from different books, journals, abstracts and the research projects, goggle etc. It is hoped that information contained will be valuable to students, teachers, iv researcher, extension agents and application of the knowledge will benefit to the Agri-extension personnel and ultimately to the farmers. Efforts have been made to compile the useful information so as to make easy understanding and implementation of this technology in systematic manner.

Our Almighty God has been so gracious and merciful to us, who is also the source of all knowledge, wisdom and understanding helped us throughout the work to publish this book. We sincerely thank and appreciate the MBRLC Kinuskusan, Bansalan, Davao del Sur, Philipines for allowing us to reproduce the contents of FAITH Garden technology with the purpose of facilitating wide information transfer who made us feel to write this book with a condition that two hard copies of published will be send to MBRLC Philippines. This book did not receive any specific grant from funding agencies in the public, commercial, or not for profit sectors. It is purely for educational purpose and ultimate goal is to educate the farmers particularly on FAITH gardening and its concept. These FAITH techniques will be helpful to farmers who are having a small plot of land for their sustenance and survival.
