This book offers a concise exploration of five key classes of
hydrocarbons: alkanes, alkenes, alkynes, cycloalkanes, and arenes.
These hydrocarbons form the foundation of organic chemistry and
play critical roles in energy production, material synthesis, and
pharmaceuticals.
This book aims to cover a certain portion of organic Chemistry
under the component of Hydrocarbon in undergraduate Courses at
different Indian Universities. This book contains several examples of
chemical reactions with mechanisms, properties, and applications of
these hydrocarbons. An attempt has been made to present the subject
in a simple, clear, lucid, and intelligible manner.
