MONOGRAPH ON DA-US-SADAF(PSORIASIS)

In the name of ALLAH which is most merciful and compassionate and all praise are for him who made us the noblest of creatures and bestowed us the science of Medicine. At the same time, peace and blessings of ALLAH be upon Prophet MOHAMMAD and his family.

Monograph on Da-us-Sadaf (Psoriasis) is based on open labeled clinical trial on psoriatic patients with evaluating the efficacy of Safoof-e-Babchi (Psoraliya corylifolia Linn. powder) and Marham Gulabi. This research work has been done during 3 years Post Graduate Unani course. In this book, I have tried to explain the Unani and recent concept of Da-us-Sadaf (Psoriasis) along with its epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, variants, clinical features, diagnosis and differential diagnosis in details. This book is mainly based on the therapeutic principles of Unani Medicine. A review over Babchi and Ingredients of Marham Ghulabi; sindur (plumbum), mom (beeswax), boric acid, carbolic acid and roghan-e-narjeel (coconut oi) has also been described. References have been numbered consequently in the order that they are cited in the text at the end of paragraph and designated by superscript with square brackets.
