FUNDAMENTALS OF CARDIO-RESPIRATORY INVESTIGATIONS AND MUSCULOSKELETAL EXAMINATIONS FOR PHYSIOTHERAPISTS: A GUIDE TO CLINICAL PRACTICE

2020 was the year when both the Authors Sneha Suresh and Vivek V. Menon decided to frame a book for Physiotherapy Undergraduate students comprising basics in Cardio-Respiratory and Musculoskeletal aspects. The Primary focus was to cover the Investigations and Examinations required doing the assessment of the patients on bedside as well as at the outpatient department. The Secondary focus was to give an idea of correlating the Cardio-Respiratory investigations and musculoskeletal examinations for better planning and prescription of Physiotherapy exercise and rehabilitation.

This Book can be used by undergraduate Physiotherapy students as a Basic Guide in clinical practice of Physiotherapy.

The Book is proposed and compiled by enhancing the readers’ idea of learning the basic concepts with reference to Cardio-Respiratory Investigations and Musculoskeletal Examinations so that it makes learning more interesting. This book is written in simple English language for quick understanding.

This book titled “Fundamentals of Cardio-Respiratory Investigations and Musculoskeletal Examinations for Physiotherapists: A Guide to Clinical Practice” is structured in to two sections.

SECTION ‘A’:- Provides a brief orientation on the Cardio-Respiratory system and gives information on Investigations under Cardio-respiratory diseases which is covered in Chapters 1 to 6, which address:

9.            Muscle Length Testing

10.        Leg Length Discrepancy (LLD)

11.        Posture

12.        Dermatome and Myotome Examination

13.        Neuro Dynamic Testing
