EFFECTIVENESS OF TRADITIONAL MEDIA IN DIFFERENT CULTURAL ENVIRONMENT: A STUDY OF ASSAM AND KERALA

India is the most vibrant nation in the world because of the richness in culture. This richness can see in the length and breadth of the country. When I was a child I was very much interested in folk songs, folk dance, folk plays, folk drama, etc. During college days I could not connect with the folk culture which I was learned from childhood. In my academic interest, I have conducted some minor research of my personal interest I found that no such literature or knowledge is available to know what is the actual cultural heritage which we have grown up and how it developed a feeling of unity among the different states as a nation. As everyone knows India is a playhouse of civilizations. We are the richest nation with different languages, religions, castes, sub-castes, styles of living and attire, behavior, etc. Though we have numerous differences from time immemorial we are a single nation in the cultural sphere and still we are continuing this cultural unity. It is one of the wonders of more than 7 wonders in the world. As I have a little interest in research, I started to search for the secret behind the cultural unity of our nation. For my research, I have selected Assam and Kerala both the states are 3500 kilometers far from each other. In the beginning, I faced many difficulties for one year. But, interestingly after one year, some like-minded people came forward to help me to research the hidden truths. I took 2 years to complete my research to complete. Finally, with the help of almighty, I have successfully revealed the reasons for our cultural unity by proving that even though the distance is a big barrier for cultural unity but our cultural environment is still the same and similar hence, we are still continuing as a cultural nation.

This is my first book on this topic, and it raises some important questions against our conventional thoughts which we have learned from our school days. I heartily welcome questions and through debates, we can learn and I very humbly present my book in front of my fellow citizens for such an exchange of ideas.
