Over the past ten years or so, there has been a significant shift in the way that people think about and perceive plant science research. The revolution in current research methodology, however, has always resulted in the marginalization of small topics/issues. The value of traditional research is waning in the modern day due to the development of numerous modern sophisticated equipments, data analysis softwares, artificial intelligences, etc. Furthermore, it has become prohibitively expensive for institutions with limited resources to perform research in fields like molecular biology, biotechnology, and other applied plant sciences. Therefore, this edited book is an effort undertaken to elevate the thoughts of the researchers at these underfunded institutions to inspire and motivate them. This little effort of our research, which we really believe will be helpful in understanding the present trends in contemporary plant science research, particularly the research in classical botany.
This edited volume includes bryophytes, pteridophytes, and higher plants with a variety of uses in daily life.
Because it was rushed through the press, this edited volume may have printing errors, and it would be highly appreciable of the readers if the errors are addressed to us, if found any, in the text. The authors and/or editors will gratefully accept any additional recommendations to the greatest extent feasible, and will consider them in the further edition.
