The book “Women in Integrated Farming System” is based on a research study carried out in different districts of Garo Hills, Meghalaya. The Integrated Farming System is the most effective and powerful system for enhancing the income and profit of the farming community. IFS are eco-friendly and accelerate production and provide year-round income. It also helps in proper waste management and good soil health. Its effect is impacted on employment generation and increasing standard of living. As it provides income from different sources it helps in reducing farmer’s suicide cases also. As agriculture is a family enterprise in India women play a major role in farming in general and Integrated Farming in particular. With this backdrop, the present study was an attempt to enlist the different models of Integrated Farming Systems practiced by the farmers in Meghalaya, to study the role of men and women in different activities of each enterprise of IFS (Integrated Farming System), and to identity the constraints faced by the women in IFS.
