Meet The Author

The Book Welfare and Development: Issues and Concerns endeavors to cast a glance at the highly significant yet loosely used terms “Welfare” and “Development”. Welfare refers to
the characteristics of the state of doing well, especially in relation to happiness, well-being, or success. At the same time, the process that creates growth, progress, and positive
change, or the addition of physical, economic, environmental, social, and demographic components is called Development.
These terms are mainly related to the day-to-day lives of the people and so it needs to be contextualized. Keeping in mind the paucity of compiled work, this book has been conceptualized to sensitize the readers towards it. This book entails ten chapters which are the expressions of different academicians, scholars as well as students pertaining to the economic, social, political, ecological, and gender perspectives which give the book a pleasant reading.
The major theme of this book revolves around several aspects viz; theoretical frameworks of welfare, sustainable development, gender issues, and their prospects, good governance, public policy and administration, implementation of welfare schemes in India, and conflict and peace. The authors have encountered these issues in their research and pain-pointed their observations, ideas, views as well as understanding in a structured way.
Furthermore, the book is the first volume that introduces a basic idea of both the terms “Welfare” and “Development” in such a way that it provides a forward-looking way to new researchers. It would be appreciated if the readers provide an honest review and feedback from their observations. It will encourage us to come up with new content and innovative
ideas for a constant contribution to academics.
