The Gondwana University under the guideline of University Grants Commission (UGC) has decided to revise new scheme of the syllabus for B.Sc. courses to cope up with the changes taking place in global educational scenario of twenty first century. This new guideline of UGC will act as lay out for the students and teachers to enhance the creative potential without compromising the quality of education. The scheme of syllabus is popularly known as Choice Based Credit System (CBCS). In this view, we strongly believe that a comprehensive book covering all topics of model curriculum in zoology require immediately. This book is fruitful outcome of our aforesaid strong feelings.
We feel immense pleasure to present this Text book of Zoology for B.Sc. (Semester- III) Students and Teachers.

This is our result of long extensive teaching experience for post graduate and under graduate level. We would like to thanks all my previous students and some faculty friends who provided me excellent feedback that has insisted me in writing this book. In this edition we have adjusted focus on each point of new CBCS syllabus to satisfy needs of student. Additionally, we have maintained both the high quality and quantity of exercises and applications for which the series is known.
