Good nutrition is a basic component of health. It is of prime importance in the attainment of normal growth and development.

Food has a major role in every person’s health and well- being. Decisions about how food is provided and consumed has a fundamental impact on the relationship and dynamics within a care setting; healthy eating habits throughout the life course will reduce the risk of health problems in later life. It is important that the food and eating patterns to which young people are exposed to promote positive relationships with food and good nutrition. Physical activity also plays a huge role in the health and well-being of young people, enhancing their quality of life and self-esteem.

Consequently the present work was undertaken to assess the unusual eating behavior among girls.

Human eating behaviour develops rapidly from 15 years to 30 years. I review multilevel influences on eating behaviour.

This work brings together the current understanding of etiology, awareness, stigma, preventive and management approach of eating disorder research related to social influences and eating behavioural process that influence the development of food acceptance and appetite regulation.
