This literature is the book form of my Master’s in Theology (M.Th.) thesis, “Dalit Identity in India with Special Reference to the Food Politics: A Theological Appraisal” a requirement submitted to the Senate of Serampore College (University) in fulfilment of the requirement for the degree of Master’s in Theology in the year 2019.
As I mentioned in the outset of the book, I am basically a presbyter, working in Thiruchirappalli – Thanjavur Diocese now. I have served in the church for two years before my theological education and after that for three years. Then, I am serving in the church as a presbyter for the next foruteen years and am involved in ministries in various capacities. As a preacher and an academician, I have contributed to the ministries of the church and to the theological field in various levels.
While doing my Masters in Theology, I was encouraged by my good friend Rev. Logan Samuel to think about the Food politics in India, from which I was able to draw the topic of my thesis. I am thankful to Dr. Gladson Jathanna for reading through my initial ideas and to give his valuable comments to develop this into a complete thesis. It was then by God’s grace that I was helped by many in completing this thesis.
