CONTEMPORARY GREEN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES: LOCAL TO GLOBAL

The environment plays a significant role in supporting life on Earth but now it is deteriorating, and there are numerous factors contributing to this damage. Green environmental issues are issues that cause disruptions in the usual function of an ecosystem. The everyday activities of humans are constantly degrading the quality of the environment which ultimately results in the loss of survival conditions from the earth. It includes pollution, global warming, the greenhouse effect, the use of harmful compounds, genetically modified foods, deforestation, the degradation of agricultural soil, extinctions and endangerment of species, and other damages. This is all because the human economy is engaged in a wide range of activities that are causing enormous damage to the ecosystems that sustain both our species and Earth’s legacy of biodiversity. The UN system has adopted international frameworks for environmental issues in three key issues, which have been encoded as the “triple crises” climate change, pollution, and biodiversity loss. So, for the restoration of the ecosystem and protection of Mother Earth, it is extremely important to have an understanding of environmental issues.
