As per crb records many minors caught in the loop of drugs and criminal offences are unable to emerge from it, driven by circumstances defined by poverty, poor living conditions, illiteracy and other causes.Statistics show an upward rise in numbers among minors from the lower community strata. The trend is of much concern especially after the pandemic induced lockdown imposed in 2020. Since schools were shut at that time many children from lower strata dropped out. From schools switched to drugs ultimately took to crime, there by contributing juvenile offenders caught by police.Children on charges of petty crimes generally get bail between 1 to 3 weeks. While serious or habitual offenders kept in observation homes for long.This maiden attempt has been made since government is recognizing the importance of allocating resources for the prevention of delinquency. Government is actively and rigorously involved in prevention services by indulging in activities such as substance abuse education, treatment, rehabilitation, family counseling, youth mentoring, parenting education, educational recreational support, and youth sheltering to enhance skills and capabilities and self esteem of youth.This little attempt as aimed at ameliorating the conditions in juvenile homes, correctional homes, and children homes, special homes, observation homes, special homes cum children home for girls in Telangana state.
