Environmental science is an extremely diverse discipline and can be a bewildering field to the novice. This traditional book likes to be too long and detailed to be read by students. The environmental science text book presented here was written after 3 years of teaching environmental biology students and searching for a book that was readable and complete enough to meet their needs. It contains all of the information that is pertinent to biology students who are studying environmental sciences. It also provides solid background of environmental sciences while describing the plants and animals in a manner that is clearly relevant.
Although, text was designed to teach undergraduate and postgraduate environmental biology students, it should also serve as a review tool for individuals who are taking environmental science examinations. The mass of material may appear overwhelming for undergraduate and postgraduate students but that is real life.
Environmental science has expanded beyond recognition with various biology specialties. The textbook is divided into six sections, based on the major disciplines included within environmental sciences: Earth sciences, marine science, forest biology, environmental pollution control, metal science and society sustainable development. The chapters themselves are comprehensive yet free of necessary detail and provide the reader with a framework to understand. I shall be thankful for any comment or suggestions from students, teachers and all the readers of the book for further improvements.
