SOCIO-ECONOMIC CONDITION OF TRIBAL BENEFICIARIES UNDER MGNREGA IN MURBAD TALUKA OF THANE DISTRICT

“Socio-Economic condition of Tribal beneficiaries under MGNREGS in Murbad Taluka of Thane District” tries to find out whether there is an improvement in socio-economic conditions of tribal people in Murbad Taluka in last few years. The changes that have taken place in socio economic conditions of tribal beneficiaries and overall development of Murbad Taluka due to implementation of MGNREGS was studied in this book.

In Murbad Taluka of Thane district no single empirical study has been undertaken in case of MGNREGS. After studying earlier literature and some reports at national level in MGNREGS the need for a more remote research of ST beneficiaries under MGNREGS in Murbad Taluka was felt. Through this book on the ST beneficiaries in Murbad Taluka of Thane district fills research gap in this area. This book attempts to analyze the neglected underdeveloped area of Murbad Taluka especially ST people and tries to find out the main problems faced by ST people in Murbad region. So as to suggest necessary policy changes in MGNREGS to achieve full employment of ST’s in not only Murbad Taluka but overall in India.
