As an Agrometeorologist, I have long observed how variability—both in weather and land—dictates the success of a harvest. The integration of Precision Agriculture, Geoinformatics and Nanotechnology is no longer a luxury; it is a necessity for climate-resilient farming.
I am delighted to see this comprehensive guide, which masterfully connects the dots between spatial sciences and material innovations. While Geoinformatics allows us to “see” and “map” the invisible patterns of crop health and climatic risks, Precision Agriculture gives us the tools to act on that data with surgical accuracy. Furthermore, the inclusion of Nanotechnology highlights the future of input delivery, ensuring that our interventions are as efficient at the molecular level as they are at the field level.
This book is particularly timely. As we transition toward “Smart Agriculture,” our students—the future architects of Indian farming—need a resource that simplifies complex concepts like GPS, GIS and Remote Sensing without losing scientific rigor.
