In the 20th century, we witnessed a chain of events which put the global economy through a series of tests and trials. We truly witnessed global economies emerging through the worst course of events such as World War 2, the Great Depression, OPEC price shock, etc. While we emerged stronger, more experienced and prepared, we still had a long way to go in the 21st century. In this era, the world witnessed another series of challenges like that of the Financial Crisis of 2008 and the European debt crisis which occurred in the previous decade. This decade brought a new challenge with it: the COVID-19 pandemic.
With a surge in the rates of unemployment and contractions in GDP, the global economy at large is facing its biggest challenge yet: protecting livelihoods of hundreds of thousands of people, providing accessible healthcare to all, removing the dread of the virus that lies within the population at large while also maintaining the integrity of the education system.
As we have previously observed, adapting to the grim situations and coming up with modernised methods of dealing with the economy have proved to be beneficial in emerging out of the financial crisis intact. The research papers published in the book were first presented in the international conference on Neoteric tendencies in World Economy, Education and Employment. We aim to discuss how an economy can be preserved through improvement in variables such as education and employment. While discussing neoteric ways of solving such a financial crisis, we aim to come up with astute ideas that can help us get through pandemic and also prepare us for a post COVID-19 world.
This book presents all those research ideas provided by academicians and scholars around the world to deliberate on issues that will act as building blocks of a post Covid-19 society.
