INDIA AND THE NEW WORLD: THROUGH THE EYES OF YOUNG SCHOLARS

A transformation of the world order has occurred in the decade between the global financial crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic.  It is before our eyes that the very essence of international relations and its rules have been shifting. This implies that India’s to advance its objectives better with optimum relationships with all the major powers.  A bolder and non-reciprocal approach to its neighbourhood is also needed.  There is now a global footprint in the making that leverages Indias greater potential and importance, as well as its unique diaspora. This period of global upheaval brings India with its greater aspirations, placing it on the road to becoming a leading power.  The chapters contributed to this volume attempt to firmly, accurately, and critically present India in the ‘new world’ The contributions from scholars of India, South Asia, and Europe cover various aspects of India’s new policy approaches; Indo-pacific and geostrategic balance; from new security areas to regional dynamics and socio-cultural interactions; and post-pandemic economy in international politics.
