Meet The Author

I am delighted to introduce my work on “Health and Nutritional Status of Females: A Case Study of Moradabad District,” intended to critically analyse the health and nutritional status of females across all life cycle stages in relation to their socio-economic status. India, being the most populous country in the world, exhibits significant and persistent inequalities in terms of females’ health and nutritional status, with broader implications for families, society, and the economy. Uttar Pradesh, one of the most populous states in the country, faces the highest rates of malnutrition, and moreover, females in the Moradabad district of the State have an even higher incidence of malnutrition.

In this book, I have endeavoured to analyse the trends and patterns of health and nutritional status of females across all life cycle stages in India, based on NFHS-4 data. Additionally, I present findings from my research study, which explores the health and nutritional status of females in Moradabad District, referencing their socio-economic status. This research involved an extensive survey conducted across the district, encompassing both urban and rural areas.

An analytical study in this regard is essential to assess differentials by socioeconomic factors, evaluate the outcomes of various government policies and programs, and gauge the utilization of available health infrastructure and services. This enables the recommendation of targeted interventions for effective outcomes. This book serves as a valuable reference for readers, stakeholders, and research scholars seeking to understand and gain perspective on the subject.
