As per The Constitution of India, a strong foundation has been emphasized to ensure equality of status and opportunity to all its citizens. As such everyone is duty-bound to welcome and respect all students, parents, and other people to support and inspire each child irrespective of their individual ability. Provisions to accommodate children with special needs by way of specific learning aids, adoption of alternate curriculum etc have been laid down in the Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016.
Since, Mental and Intellectual challenges are the hidden ones, so the authors planned to sensitize masses and the present Handbook on Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder and Associated Problems happens to be a part of the program. Moreover, the handbook aims at supporting stakeholders in the identification of various challenges with respect to intellect, behavior, education, remedial teaching, putting the idea of a barrier free environment into perspective, letting them know about different instructional designs, lesson plans, assistive technologies, documentation, information on special provisions available to special children, and techniques of assessment to help them as they create meaningful student learning experiences.
While using the different sections of the handbook, it is necessary to adapt the information provided in it as per the need of the context in which one wishes to use it and that of the needs of the target groups.
We believe that the tools and techniques included in the Handbook will prove to be practical and useful to all the stakeholders and will lead to increasing access, equity, and participation of all ADHD children and the ones having associated problems in the learning process as per their needs.
