The present works entitle ‘Challenges and Prospects of Youth Entrepreneurship in Hill districts of Manipur’ is an attempt to accumulate the various challenges faced by the young entrepreneur on three domains i.e technical skills, management skills, entrepreneurship skills while setting up business and during running business. The study also tried to find out its prospects on the mention three domains.
The work is segmented into five chapters including conclusion. Chapter one deals with Introduction which included background of Manipur: hill and valley district, entrepreneur and entrepreneurship, role and importance of entrepreneurship, youth entrepreneurship, studies and on youth entrepreneurship.
Chapter Two presented the „Review of Literature‟ focus on perspective of Entrepreneurship, factors for emergence of entrepreneurship, challenges of youth entrepreneurship, government and private institutions response to youth entrepreneurship. The reviews concluded with the research gap of the study.
Chapter three studied “Methodology” of the research work. This chapter constitutes the rationale of the study, research questions and objectives, research design, Universe of the study, sampling framework and techniques, sources of data collection, tools of data collection, limitations of the study, inclusion and exclusion criteria, etc.
Chapter four studied “Analysis and Interpretation of data” comprises the core of the study. The chapter analyzed the findings through questionnaire, in-depth interview, and focus group discussion. The findings were analyzed by employing supported or contradictory to the statement from literature review. The chapter also discussed profile of the respondents, major issues and problems faced by the youth, in the sphere of entrepreneurship skills, technical skills and management skills.
Chapter five deals with „Summary and Conclusion‟ and it essentially focus on the principal conclusion of the study, and provide some suggested recommendation and administered suggestion for future research. The chapter concluded with Social work intervention and researcher’s model of youth empowerment based on relevant theories and finding of the study.
